A final Brexit deal needs Parliament's approval. MEPs say transitional arrangements after the UK officially leaves must strictly not exceed 3 years. In an overhauled car approval system, a fine of €30,000 per vehicle could be slapped on manufacturers caught falsifying data. In fast-changing times, a flexible EU budget is crucial. 6 billion euros will be set aside for growth, jobs, migration and security. The EU is a big importer of palm oil, but its cultivation damages ecosystems. Parliament is calling for the phasing out of palm oil in biofuels by 2020. Up to 500,000 women worldwide were affected by the breast implant scandal where bad quality silicone was used. MEPs passed stricter regulation on medical devices.
